Discover New Mexico’s Celestial Glamping Experiences

Five Unforgettable Trips Starting This Spring… As anticipation builds for the 2026 New Mexico Glamping season, we are delighted to share what’s ahead. Our teams have once again aligned dates with New Mexico’s most spectacular celestial events, curating five exclusive journeys that will unfold beneath some of the clearest night skies in the world.

Following an inspired and memorable season, we are excited to share this unique opportunity, blending the soul of The Inn of the Five Graces with the immersive, transformative travel experiences of our local team who organize our off-property Journeys in New Mexico.

Chaco Canyon, one of the most sacred and mysterious cultural sites in the world, remains a hidden gem due to its remote location. This UNESCO World Heritage site is also designated as an International Dark Sky National Park, offering unparalleled stargazing opportunities. During the New Moon, just a few nights each year, the canyon is brightly illuminated by the stars in a truly breathtaking display. The expedition to Chaco Canyon allows you to experience this rare celestial event in a setting unlike any other. While the ancestral equinox alignments are the culmination to witness the sunrise alignments of the northern doorways of Casa Rinconada, the American Southwest largest kiva. Only once a year in September, the National Park allows 100 guests to arrive before sunrise to journey along the one-directional road into the heart of Chaco Canyon. Our Cultural Astronomer prepares a special educational talk to honor this view our ancestors have been witnessing for over 1,000 years.

In addition, our Taos Perseids Meteor Shower Expedition, a 4-night journey designed to create lasting memories beneath the high desert skies of northern New Mexico. The adventure begins along the historic High Road to Taos, where guests are welcomed into Taos Pueblo, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, for an intimate encounter with horno baking—a timeless ritual that connects us to centuries of living tradition. From there, the expedition unfolds across the Taos Plateau, where high desert mesas meet the Rio Grande Rift and the Sangre de Cristo Mountains rise in quiet majesty.

Guests navigate the river by stand-up paddle board or inflatable kayaks, and hike to a hidden alpine lake, and ride horseback into camp for a soulful connection with the surrounding lands. Each morning begins with restorative yoga beneath open skies, and each evening closes with nourishing meals, the scent of piñon and juniper, and stories shared under the brilliance of the Perseid stars. Nestled among ancient trees, our glamping camp offers a serene sanctuary where comfort meets wilderness. This expedition is both an adventure and a homecoming—a mindful return to presence, guided by the landscapes and stories that define Taos.

A Celestial Event. In Chaco Canyon, at night, you’ll be astounded by a sky lit by the glowing Milky Way and thousands of resplendent stars in this International Dark-Sky Park. Far from the light pollution of city skies, you’ll have the opportunity to reconnect to the rhythms and motions of the starry vault as we ponder the ancient astronomy of ancestral Puebloans. Led by a knowledgeable and enthusiastic cultural astronomer, you’ll go on a laser-guided tour of ancient Arabian skies, enriched with the cultural backstories of star names that we still use today and supplemented by telescopic views of planets, star clusters and distant galaxies.

On day two, you’ll be up before the crack of dawn. During New Moon expeditions, we’ll set out on a morning twilight hike to the Fajada Butte Overlook, where we’ll watch the striking colors of the Belt of Venus form in the sky above the canyon. During the Equinox expedition, we’ll watch the equinox sunrise at Casa Rinconada, where we’ll observe the sunrise aligning with the ancient east and west doors of this large, round kiva. The symmetry of the axis creates a perfect circle, and some speculate that it physically represents the ancestral Puebloan cosmos and served as an important religious center.

What is Cultural Astronomy? Cultural astronomy is the study of how societies relate to celestial objects and their appearance in the sky. Drawing from astronomy, social science and the humanities, cultural astronomers don’t study the physical properties of the stars themselves, but rather the ways that people draw constellations among the stars and tell stories about them. Cultural astronomy that focuses on ancient built structures are called archaeoastronomy.

Glamping Base Camp Upon arrival at our exquisite Glamping base camps, you’ll be treated to seasonal, multi-course gourmet meals meticulously prepared by our talented executive Glamping Chef, Josh Willette. Your accommodations will go far beyond the typical camping experience, featuring spacious canvas tents equipped with luxurious amenities such as raised wooden bed frames, memory foam mattresses, bedside tables, comfortable butterfly canvas chairs, plush rugs, and enchanting southwest textiles.

DATES: As anticipation builds for the unique  2026 Glamping season, we are delighted to share what’s ahead. We invite you to step into a world where culture, nature, and luxury are seamlessly intertwined. This year’ s schedule highlights include: A rare opportunity to glamp within Chaco Canyon, a UNESCO World Heritage Site often described as the “Machu Picchu of North America.”
