My recent NY visit included  several new hotels and restaurants; I’ve described a few of my memorable meals..now to the rooms, the luxury cocktail lounge at The Mark, the roof top bar  at The Surrey and the lovely guest only library at the Crosby Street Hotel in Soho.

In three acts.

All three hotels, either recently renovated or recently opened each have very special features and all fall into the luxury category. Walking into The Mark lobby: the WOW factor is evident, and in my favorite color scheme- black and white and gold, the room pops with elegance and energy – I love, love love it!

Wonderful service, an ever helpful staff, excellent restaurant ( Jean Georges), zingy vibrant cocktail bar, great fun and brimming with the VV beautiful crowd in the evening! Love the amenities in my luxury suite, why didn’t someone think of adding a small drawer size freezer with ice in each room sooner? No traipsing down a hall and accidentally  getting locked out in my nightgown, or having to wait for room service…The Mark has thoughtfully added a freezer and ice, and a useful fridge in each room. Bathrooms again in beautiful marble stripes, luxuriously large, enormous bath tubs – always impressed with oversize tubs, I am a daily soaker, and after a day of walking in the city, a blissful bubble bath is just what one needs to prepare for a night out on the town! Adore The Mark!

So close to my beloved haunts, a lovely change from my favorite midtown properties- move uptown, change and perspective is rejuvenating.
