Petite Escapes – Pre-ski Deer Valley

Familiar with my never leave home without… the perfect journal, the favorite pashmina, and never leave home without a good guide – a book or a well traveled friend.

I managed a few short blissful days in Deer Valley with the latter guide; a well traveled friend, an extraordinary local guide. My mantra: only the VV best was easily fulfilled. The St. Regis in Deer Valley is the  perfect get away resort if you can’t claim your own ski chalet. Opened a year ago, the St. Regis offers a marvelous spa, lovely rooms and direct from NYC, J and G Grill- Jean-Georges in the snow capped mountains! Stunning views, fire warmed outdoor patios, rustic elegance and meals from heaven!

Art galleries abound, Coda Gallery on Main Street in Park City receives honorable mention every year in Mountain Living Magazine – showcasing upcoming contemporary Utah artists. A piece of Justin Wheatley’s will be adorning my wall soon…he, soon to grace an art magazine cover as an artist to watch in the West.

Returning to the Spa! A few hours, led to half a day of indulgence, decadent luxury, marvelous attentive service, attention to detail is vital at the Remède spa. This soothing atmosphere is dedicated solely to the beauty of pampering and tranquility, enhanced by luscious water-inspired amenities. The spa features a reflecting pool that flows from outside the resort into the spa’s first floor lobby and a grand spiral staircase leads upstairs to 11 peaceful treatment rooms. Sensational day!

More soon on restaurants, High West Distillery, jewels and gems,  galleries…three days is barely enough time to explore and enjoy Deer Valley pre- season.
