Fiji- Laucala Island Paradise Perfected

If you’ve flown to Hawaii –  each further trek becomes well worth the long flights – when clients mention distance to Bora Bora, or the Maldives, but it is so far – my standard reply is nothing prepared me for the sheer beauty of the gin clear seas, the billowing clouds. Impossibly tranquil, undeniably divine. The ocean at your doorsteps, and fragrant gardens at your fingertips. Paradise found; alarm clocks lost. Eternity is spent in an atoll of fluffy white pillows.

Fiji, an archipelago of over 300 islands in the South Pacific, is a tropical paradise renowned for palm-lined beaches, vibrant coral reefs, and warm hospitality.  COMO Laucala was originally a private island owned by billionaire Malcolm Forbes. He operated a small exclusive hotel, but it took a sale to the former Red Bull owner Diedrich Mateschitz, who purchased the island in 2023 for $10 million to transform it to the ultra-luxe property it is today. Investing copious amounts of his fortune with a new eye and great attention to detail. He has since passed away, but his son runs the property.

There are 25 villas here, with a team of 350 staff members. All villas overlooking the water and named, as well as numbered. LAUCALA is a private island in Vanua Levu, Fiji – vast, vivid, and quietly complete. It unfolds like a world for the senses: reef-blue water, rainforest green, warm breeze, birdsong, and an endless horizon.

Here, freedom isn’t a concept. It’s the way the island moves with you.

Do everything. Or absolutely nothing.

Twenty-five private villas – your own pool, and space that opens to ocean or jungle- what’s your pleasure?

Dining that moves with the island: barefoot beach ease or unhurried candlelit evenings

Days shaped by nature not schedules –reef, wellness, golf, horses, trails, boats and whatever calls you- pay attention or don’t respond!

A personal host who reads the moment and takes care of the details

Effortlessly inclusive: dining, refreshments, and most on-island experiences

Arrive as you prefer – via AIR LAUCALA or your private jet

And Then: time to relax. Nothing to plan, unless you desire to.
