Autumn In New York The Lowell

If I had a pied-à-terre in New York, it would be at The Lowell. An Upper East Side address, it’s tucked in amid tree lined streets and stately private homes. Located between Park and Madison Avenues with excellent shopping and dining nearby. Fifth Avenue is only five blocks away, and Central Park is only two blocks east. Originally built in the 1920’s as an apartment hotel, the suites are spacious, all have windows which open to fresh air.  Interior designer Michael S. Smith decorated the sophisticated townhouse interiors.

Meander down to the Neue Galerie and their infamous Café Sabarsky for tea and return to curl up up in your comfy suite. Books line the shelves and I can imagine spending a long weekend here reading.

Each suite is truly designed to resemble a personal sophisticated apartment, elegantly furnished and once Sept 23 falls on the calendar, the authentic wood burning fireplaces are burning. Suites have fully stocked kitchens, snuggle in for tea and cocktails or invite friends for an impromptu supper and luxuriate in front of your crackling fire.

Enormous bathrooms clad in white Italian marble, soaking tub for two, luxurious bath products, free wireless, fresh flowers, oh, and the quietest ac in all of NYC. I’m kind of a nut about noisy ac, many hotels drop an ac box into beautiful carved wood furniture, however the roar is not cloaked by a lovely box, it keeps me awake all night. The suite is extremely quiet by New York standards. A few of the suites offer a rare and almost impossible city amenity, an outside terrace.

European elegance, quiet efficient service, old world charm and blocks from fine dining and many museums, The Lowell is your personal apartment in the city. Swell!
