The Point Resort is a distinctive hideaway, a world apart. The Point is designated as Forbes only 5-star resort in Upstate New York. Built by William Avery Rockefeller a century ago, the fanciful log mansions, crafted of native timber and stone, personified the 19th century romantic notion of roughing it in great comfort, style and luxury. Today, The Point continues the tradition of honoring guests with its unique combination of warm hospitality, privacy and utter comfort.
The great Adirondack Park is a wonderland, a six-million-acre wilderness blanketing upstate New York from Albany all the way to Canada.
The legendary “High Peaks” – 46 mountains soaring higher than 4,000 feet – form the crown of the park, and the vast forest spreads out below them. It is a wild paradise composed of countless clear, cold lakes and tumbling streams, alpine meadows, and untold miles of trails. There is a special silence to be found here, skimming on skis through the snowy woods; waiting for trout to rise to a fly; or watching the campfire flicker in the mirrored edge of a lake.

Open year around. Days at The Point unfold with boating, fishing, tennis, water skiing, croquet, badminton, swimming and hiking. Nearby, you will find golf, horseback riding, hunting, antiquing and some of the best trout and bass fishing in the country… though a hammock swaying under the high pines can be a great temptation.
Canoes, mahogany electric inboards and Adirondack Guide Boats are on hand, for some secrets of the lake can only be discovered from the vantage of a boat. As the sun sets, our big Elco launch sets out for an evening cocktail cruise, a perfect cap to a perfect day.
