If you missed the patriotic pomp and circumstance of the Queen’s Jubilee in London, more fun is on the way, the Olympics are next on the London shore.
We can assist with hotels and tickets.

A few hotels to follow in several postings, beginning with the recent opening of
BVLGARI London.
I enjoyed a sneak preview in May; Bvlgari Hotel London had a quiet opening last week – WOW – The Italians have planted a flag in London! Located in the heart of Knightsbridge, one of the most prestigious London neighborhoods.

Glamor and Italian aesthetic sensibilities, understated elegance, the hotel sparkles like a royal gem. Attention to detail down to door fittings and hardware, not a surface or detail has gone unnoticed. The architectural and design studio of Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel and Partners created the sleek architecture and refined interiors using a selection of rich furnishings and textiles made exclusively for the hotel.

The contemporary design concept concurs with Bvlgari’s silversmith origins and Britain’s noble manufacturing traditions: silver forms the unifying theme. Details include custom-made silk curtains that feature silver patterns derived from a 1800s silver brooch by Sotirio Bulgar.

Like a Bvlgari gem, this hotel sparkles and shines, exhibiting extraordinary attention to detail.  Solid mahogany doors were treated with 46 layers of varnish, glossy and gleaming like a classic wooden yacht. You won’t find any sharp edges on walls or furniture, delicate sensual curves soften soothe and enhance the luxury in each room.

Bvlgari London has 85 rooms and suites, gorgeous restaurant and spectacular bar, super spa, which is set over two entire floors. The Spa comprises a 25m swimming pool, vitality pool, thermal experiences with ice fountains and cooling showers, relaxation room, 11 treatment rooms offering exclusive bespoke Bvlgari treatments for the face and body, a fully equipped fitness center and nail salon. I loved the ice fountain outside the steam room, pop out and cool down with a handful of ice crystals; increasing your circulation and enhancing the lymphatic system – Bvlgari hasn’t missed a beat!

Chef Robbie Pepin heads the flagship restaurant, Il Ristorante. Pepin joins from Alain Ducasse’s Italian restaurant La Trattoria in Monaco. He previously worked with Ducasse at L’Andana in Tuscany and the Four Seasons in Florence as well as at Aubergine and the Oak Room in London.

Il Ristorante will serve a menu of contemporary Italian food with a focus on seasonal, sustainably sourced produce. Chef and staff were tasting and discussing lunch presentation as I wandered past the stunning silver bar.

If all this isn’t enough,a 47 seat private theatre with scrumptious seating. Bvlgari is dedicating the glitzy screening room to British filmmaker Richard Attenborough, the living legend of screen and stage. They will donate 10 per cent of all movie industry bookings for its state-of-the-art digital cinema and presentation suite revenues to the Cinema and Television Benevolent Fund (CTBF) charity.

This is not Ye Olde London, Bvlgari London is authentic Italian, oozing panache, class and style, absolutely dazzling!
