Royal Russia – Za Vas!

A darling friend sent me this link, the subject was hats, which I wear and collect. Intrigued by the photo, he then sent me a fascinating link to Royal Russian News…take a peek at this site: http://www.angelfire.com/pa/ImperialRussian/news/index.html

What better way to ward off the current spring chill than sipping vodka and nibbling caviar blini?

I love the vintage photos and the interesting history; reporting on all that is Russian, including the current situation of the burial process of the children of Nikolai II, the last Tsar of Russia. Royalty is an unfamiliar aspect of American life or politics; spellbound Brits are awaiting the upcoming Royal wedding and in Russia, the Kremlin will decide where the remains of Grand Duchess Maria and Tsaryevicj Alexi will finally reside – the children died at the hands of the Bolsheviks in 1918.

Of course, this is merely a small piece of  history reported in the Royal Russian News – there are posts describing upcoming Imperial Home tours, Faberge exhibitions, a wonderful resource for touring in Russia, should you need an excuse for an authentic Royal Tsar Caviar and Vodka Tasting Tour.

My viewing of Dr. Zhivago eight times, borders on obsession; perhaps it was Omar Sharif and Julie Christie who were so mesmerizing,  I will never forget the enchanting images of the “ice-palace” at Varykino.
