The Beaumont Spa – Travel Mantra

Consider me a dedicated member of the Tribe of the Spa Girl; I consider it my utmost duty to share all hotel features with my clients. My recent stay at The Beaumont Hotel in London reminded me of my Travel Mantra List.

I have a few ‘travel mantras’ for my clients – in Istanbul, I insist that once you deplane, travelers are delivered directly to the nearby yacht harbor for a cruise up the Bosphorus – fresh air, avoiding the snarl of city traffic and the absolute essential experience of seeing the fabulous Istanbul skyline from the water.

Mandatory spa appointment after an all night flight, unless it’s an Emirates flight – they have the best beds. I arrived London a bit bedraggled, didn’t really sleep much – my in house Beaumont colleagues had suggested a massage on arrival, followed by lunch. I am one of those plucky travelers who resist that very tempting comfy bed on arrival, need to fall right into the local time zone.

The Beaumont spa was designed after the Turkish baths at the Royal Automobile Club in Pall Mall. The Art Deco Hamam and Spa is accented with shiny chrome, shimmering with a black and white marble mosaic tile pattern, perfectly appointed and quiet. White leather loungers reflect the perfect image. It’s sexy and cool. The Jacuzzi, circular marble ice plunge and steam room area is coed, so do bring a suit, otherwise they can supply you with disposable attire.

The American Bar The Beaumont Hotel

Highly recommend this arrival routine at The Beaumont. Take a seat in the clubby American Bar for for hydration, nibble on a teeny snack – loved the tuna tartar. …Mosey to the spa for steam followed by a short saunter to the warm massive marble massage slab. Do reserve a traditional hamam treatment incorporating an exfoliation with Savon Noir (black soap) and a traditional Rhassoul clay wrap. Cocooned in a soft paper like envelope on the toasty marble slap, I am certain I levitated off the table at least once. Followed by a massage with pure, organic argan oil and another steam room visit. Honestly, this should be a daily routine at The Beaumont. Robes are welcome in the lift, perhaps even consider this as a nightcap during your visit.

In your dream state, mosey to your room. Your bags have been placed and unpacked if you desire, change and enjoy a brisk walk in the lovely Mayfair neighborhood.

Voila, travel woes behind, almost 6 pm, time for cocktails in the guest only Cub Room…really, adopt this practice and you will understand how I always assimilate into the local time zone.

Highly recommend Spa at The Beaumont!

The Beaumont, London

My clients felt like royalty and I too will soon experience what is described as London’s hottest new hotel…The Beaumont. Located in the Brown Hart Gardens in chic Mayfair, it is an Art-Deco masterpiece. A strong focus on history and decor, hand selected art work combined with modern amenities and impeccable service make guests feel right at home. Attentive staff had my clients names memorized moments after their arrival, recognizing and greeting them at each meeting.
