Authentic Pallazo in Rome – Residenza Napoleone III

The Residenza Napoleone III is one of the most luxurious and unique boutique properties in all of Rome. Imagine the life of a royal prince or princess in Rome in the XVI century Palazzo Ruspoli on Rome’s legendary Via Condotti. Brought up to date with electricity, drop down tv screens, of course, WiFi – modern amenities amid the splendor of ancient Rome.

Named after Emperor Napoleon III, who lived here in 1830, the Residenza Napoleone III consists of two charming suite options: the Napoleone Suite (which has an optional extra bedroom described as the Blue Room) and the Roof Garden Suite.

Despite the proximity to all the best shopping and touring in Rome, you might never discover the antique Roman door leading into the splendid charming two-suite hotel. Only guests enter the Palazzo through the massive wooden doors to pass along an elegant arcade of Doric columns. A grand marble staircase, lined with antique marble busts of Roman Emperors, leads up to the entrance of the apartments.

Staying in the super-luxe Napoleone Suite, with its silk-draped canopy bed, oil paintings and antiques, is comparable to being an exclusive guest in the private home of an aristocratic Roman noble family. After extensive renovations, the suite was restored to its original splendor and offers the business and leisure traveler all the grandeur of a classic Roman Palazzo with all the modern conveniences.

Alternatively, the boutique Roof Garden Suite situated on the upper floor of the XVI century Palazzo Ruspoli offers guests the opportunity to relax in one of the most beautiful roof gardens overlooking the eternal city. Further additions to the garden suite are in progress: a second bathroom soon, and the charming, yet daunting winding metal staircase will be replaced with proper marble stairs. The garret garden suite is adorable and truly has one of the most enchanting views from the rooftop. My evening arrival was welcomed with over a hundred flickering white candles tucked around the deck and amid the flowering shrubs. Cosi romantico!

La Residenza Napoleone III is superbly located in Rome’s historic center on the legendary Via dei Condotti, the city’s most upscale shopping street lined with Italy’s famous designers: Valentino, Bulgari, Max Mara, Armani, Gucci and Ferragamo, Prada, Fendi, Tod’s. Intimate cafes and a year around farmers market are within walking distance.

Although small in size, the dedicated staff dotes on our clients, Daisy prepared a scrumptious breakfast and served it on my terrace, a backdrop of stunning vistas of the red-tile rooftops and domes of the Imperial City.

In the heart of Rome’s classiest district, Palazzo Ruspoli is perfectly placed for Rome’s many historic attractions and is only minutes away and within easy walking distance of the Spanish Steps, Pantheon, Piazza Navona, Trevi Fountains, the Coliseum and the Tiber.

Our renowned guide, who has written the most comprehensive guide to Rome, will pick you up for a grand walking tour. He believes the best introduction is to walk the streets and piazza’s, living as a Roman. Of course we can arrange a car, but do as I did and walk for miles, sit in a café to discuss history and move forward ending with a divine mid day pasta repast, wine in hand and watch the world pass by Roma Style. La Dolce Vita!
